01
Start With a Conversation
GOALS + PRIORITIES
Every project starts with understanding what you’re hoping to build, how you want the home to function and where you are in the process. You don’t need finished plans — or all the answers — before talking to us.
Outcome: A clearer understanding of your priorities and the next step forward.
02
Understand the Property + Project
SITE + FEASIBILITY
The home is only one part of the build. We look at the site conditions that may affect design, cost and construction so the house and property can be planned together from the beginning.
We consider:
Site access, Clearing + grading, Drainage, Utilities, Well/septic, Setbacks
Outcome: A clearer picture of what the property may require.

03
Align the Project + Budget
SCOPE + FINANCING
Before design gets too far along, we want the size and scope of the home, site requirements and overall investment to make sense together.
If financing is part of the build, this is also where your lender becomes an important part of the process.
Outcome: A realistic framework for the project before major design decisions are finalized.
04
Design the Home Around the Way You Live
PLANS + ARCHITECTURAL DIRECTION
The design should do more than look good on paper. We consider how the home will actually function — from room relationships and traffic flow to storage, natural light, built-ins and how the home sits on the property.
Depending on the project, we may begin with an existing plan or develop something more customized.
Outcome: A home design shaped around your needs, property and everyday life.

05
Make Your Selections With Confidence
FINISHES + DESIGN GUIDANCE
We’ll help you understand what needs to be selected, when decisions need to be made and how those choices affect the build.
While Besaw Construction does not provide full-service interior design, we’re happy to offer guidance with finishes, colors, fixtures and architectural details when needed.
Cabinetry • Countertops • Flooring • Tile • Paint • Lighting • Hardware • Built-ins
Outcome: Clearer, more confident selections that work well together throughout the home.
06
Finalize the Details + Prepare to Build
ENGINEERING + PERMITS + FINAL PLANNING
Before construction begins, we bring the remaining pieces together — including final plans, engineering, selections, permitting and other pre-construction details.
Taking the time to prepare well upfront helps reduce unnecessary changes and surprises once work begins.
Outcome: A coordinated project that is ready to move into construction.

07
Build With Intention
CONSTRUCTION + HANDOFF
Construction moves through the major stages of the build, and we keep you informed about progress, upcoming decisions and what comes next.
Site Work → Foundation → Framing → Mechanical Systems → Drywall + Finishes → Final Details
Before handoff, we complete the final walkthrough and review the home with you.
Outcome: A finished home built with intention — and built to last.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A few things you may be wondering.
Here are some of the things homeowners often want to know before getting started.
Do I need to own land before contacting you?
No. You’re welcome to reach out whether you already own property, are actively looking, or are just beginning to explore the idea of building. We encourage homeowners to talk with a builder early so they have a clearer understanding of what to consider before purchasing land.
Can you help with plans and engineering?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can help coordinate the plans and engineering needed to move your home toward construction.
Do you provide interior design services?
Besaw Construction does not provide full-service interior design. However, if you’re unsure of your selections, we’re happy to offer guidance with finishes, colors, fixtures and architectural details to help your choices work well together throughout the home.
Do I need house plans before contacting you?
No. In many cases, it’s helpful to have the first conversation before plans are finalized so the property, budget and design can be considered together.
What if I already have house plans?
That’s perfectly fine. We can review what you already have, talk through the property and project requirements, and determine the most appropriate next steps.
When should I talk to a lender?
If financing will be part of your build, your lender should become involved early. We generally recommend starting with an initial conversation about the project so you have a clearer idea of what you’re planning to build and the potential scope of the investment.
